    ❓FAQ

    What is a prune?

A prune is quite simply a dried plum. Using the word “prune” for fresh plums is not used anymore except when referencing varieties of plums grown for drying.

What are the benefits of eating prunes?

Prunes are packed with important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre to boost your overall immune system? Not to mention, a single serving of prunes (4-5 or 40g) has 3 grams of soluble and insoluble fibre, which collectively promotes healthy gut bacteria.

What is the difference between gorgonzola cheese and blue cheese?

Gorgonzola is a type of blue-veined cheese, and it is generally milder in flavor than other varieties of blue cheese.

    💭 Make-ahead and storage tips

    • This appetizer can be prepared ahead and not baked. Simply stuff the prunes with gorgonzola, wrap with pancetta and place in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 days. When ready to serve, pop in the oven!
    • Once baked, these stuffed prunes can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the microwave orin a pan on the stove with some oil.

    💡 Top tips

    • The best Gorgonzola to use is a firm one, as it won’t ooze out as easily as soft gorgonzola when baked.
    • The pancetta strips used in this recipe were about 8 inches long, which can wrap around the prunes a few times.
    • The pancetta can be substituted with bacon, and you can make bacon-wrapped prunes instead!
