I once took a plane trip to Italy (approx 16 hours of travel time) and didn't take any skincare products or toiletries with me. When I landed, I left the plane feeling...gross (for lack of better terms). So needless to say, I made sure to never make that mistake again! The next time I took the 16-hour journey, I made sure I was prepared. And it made all the difference. When I left the plane, I felt refreshed and energized, instead of gross and tired.
So next time you're taking a long flight and are wondering what to pack in your carry-on, don't forget the essentials below:
- Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask
With restrictions on carry-on toiletry sizes, I had to make sure that everything I brought in my carry-on followed the rules! That's why this mask was perfect. It comes in a handy travel size for $5. Now I know what you're thinking: "I'm not going to wear a face mask on the plane! Everyone will stare at me and think I'm crazy." I thought the same thing. But this mask is colorless so no one will even be able to tell you have a mask on. A nourishing mask is the best way to beat the drying air that planes are so notorious for. Even though this is an overnight mask, I only kept it on for about one hour and found that it did the trick. I then removed the mask with the Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Cleansing Cloths. I used the mask toward the end of the plane trip, but the cloths were great throughout the whole flight when my skin needed a good cleanse. - Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
I received this travel size moisturizer as a 100-pt gift from Sephora and it was perfect for the flight. I applied it after the mask and it worked perfectly to lock in moisture. - Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I was so happy that this mist came in travel-size! If you're only going to bring one beauty product on the plane with you, this is it. Simply spritz on your face when it's feeling parched (which will be numerous times on a long flight) and it works wonders to refresh, hydrate and brighten skin. It was definitely my saving grace! - Nivea soft cream
I know I've focused on face products throughout this post, but I definitely used this Nivea cream on my hands to keep them hydrated. I found it in the travel section at my local grocery store and used it throughout my whole trip, not just on the plane.
And that's it! Those are my 4 (well, 5 sort of) essential products to stay hydrated and refreshed on long plane flights. Trust me, your skin will thank you. Ok, let's also not forget the travel-size deodorant and toothbrush/toothpaste...but those were kind of givens no? 😛
